Rabbi Jaime Klein Aklepi is the Reform Rabbi at Bet Breira Samu-El Or Olom.  Rabbi Aklepi came to Bet Breira as Associate Rabbi in 1997, and became the Senior Rabbi in 2004.  She was instrumental in the implementation merger with a Conservative congregation, Samu-El Or Olom in 2009. After the successful merge, Bet Breira changed their name to Bet Breira Samu-El Or Olom.

Rabbi Aklepi leads our congregation with warmth, knowledge and integrity.  She is a charismatic, enthralling speaker, with an inviting personality. Rabbi Aklepi  is an influential luminary, shaping Reform Judaism all over the world.  She teaches and celebrates Jewish tradition; it’s values, customs and rituals. Under Rabbi Aklepi’s leadership, Jewish life is celebrated through many diverse and innovative programs for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Rabbi Aklepi was ordained by the Hebrew-Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion in 1994, and holds a Master of Arts in Hebrew Literature from the same institution.  She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University, has studied at the graduate level in Israel, and recently completed an Executive Certificate in Transformational Non-Profit Leadership from the University of Notre Dame.   Rabbi Aklepi has been serving the Miami-Dade community since 1993, when she relocated to Miami to serve as Director of the Hillel Jewish Student Center on the University of Miami campus.  While working at Hillel at the University of Miami she established and implemented the first Birthright program to Israel. Rabbi Aklepi is a past President of the Rabbinical Association of Greater Miami, and the Southeast Association of the Central Conference of American Rabbis, and currently serves on the Synagogue Federation Relations Committee, the South Dade Federation and is a trustee of Hillel at Florida State University.
