Rabbi Jaime Klein Aklepi

Rabbi Jaime Klein Aklepi is the Reform Rabbi at Bet Breira Samu-El Or Olom.  Rabbi Aklepi came to Bet Breira as Associate Rabbi in 1997, and became the Senior Rabbi in 2004.  She helped to develop and implement the innovative merger of a conservative congregation with Bet Breira, forming Bet Breira Samu-El Or Olom. Rabbi Aklepi leads the congregation with warmth, knowledge and integrity.  She teaches and celebrates Jewish tradition; its values, customs and rituals. Under Rabbi Aklepi’s leadership, Jewish life is celebrated through many diverse and innovative programs for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Rabbi Aklepi was ordained by the Hebrew-Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion in 1994.  She holds a Master of Arts in Hebrew Literature from the same institution.  She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University, and has studied at the graduate level in Israel.  Rabbi Aklepi has been serving the Miami community since 1993 when she relocated to Miami to serve as Director of the Hillel Jewish Student Center on the University of Miami campus.  While at Hillel at the University of Miami she established and implemented the first Birthright program to Israel.   Rabbi Aklepi is a past President of the Rabbinical Association of Greater Miami, and the current President of the Southeast Association of the Central Conference of American Rabbis.
